Susan N Bibbs - RN BSN
abstract and environmental oil painter
artist's statement
Having diligently applied the art of nursing,
I paint now in the aroma and the dream,
for texture for hue for gleam.
I paint hopeful to reflect the abundant grace
found in the fragile and beleaguered natural world,
and I paint to advocate for
the power of creativity in the healing process.
artist's bio
Returning to Vancouver Island after 10 years in the Yukon and 3 in the South Pacific, I worked as a Family Practice Nurse while raising my three children. With a longstanding interest in the relationship between creativity and healing, I studied and enjoyed both nursing advocacy and art therapy. After working and experimenting with several mediums from textiles to illustration, I am currently dedicated to the use of oils.
